Synopsis
The episode begins with Ness and Jeff in the desert after reuniting Black Sesame Seed with White Sesame Seed. They head back to the Monotoli Building and head to the 48th floor. While Ness takes the stairs, Jeff decides to take the elevator. As he gets in the elevator, he starts to flirt with Beatrice by singing. Beatrice then kicks him out of the elevator, threatening him that she will kill him next time. As Ness and Jeff reunites, they try to find Electra's room but are stopped by a Sentry Robot asking for a password. Ness tries salami but the robot starts counting down. Jeff sighs and proceed with the password "Slippy's ship is in the docking bay", allowing passage. They then encounter another Sentry Robot. Ness attempts Jeff's password but this time it doesn't work and they are forced into a fight. Jeff initially believes he has no Bottle Rocket left, making Ness thinks they have to "actually fight" the robot. However, Jeff finds one more Bottle Rocket in his pack and proceeds to destroy it. Ness restrains himself for making a comment about how Bottle Rockets make the game so easy as they get inside Electra's room.
As they hand over the Trout Yogurt machine to Electra, they find out it's actually a comic strip dispensing machine. She possesses the first 16 pages of Trout Yogurt and desires the remaining pages but is furious to find out there is no more pages beyond page 16. Ness and Jeff then leaves her room to look up for Paula. They then encounter the Clumsy Robot and engages him. Despite Jeff's warning about the sandwich, Ness attacks the robot but cannot defeat him. As the two are running out of options, the Runaway Five barges in and Lucky tells them to unplug the robot. Jeff pretty much obliges and the robot is unable to move. Ness and Jeff then proceed into Monotoli's office where they find him. He easely surrenders but Paula is nowhere to be found. Monotoli then reveals she left early with the "Fourside-o-copter".
The scene shifts to Paula in the helicopter, talking to Trisha in the other seat. Paula approaches Scaraba Desert's pyramids and before she can put her plan into motion, one of Trisha's favorite song starts playing and forces Paula to sing along. As they sing Total Eclipse of the Heart, they both sing their own variation of their lines. Trisha's are about Ness and Paula's are about Trisha's demise. As the song ends, Paula throws Trisha off the helicopter, making her crash by the pyramids of the Scaraba Desert.
Back to Ness, Jeff and Monotoli, Ness actually tells them the story about Mondo Mole but the two gets bored. Monotoli then proceeds to tell Ness that he received warning about not letting the kids reach Scaraba. Though he initially thought it was referring to his own kids, he know realizes that it was for Ness and his friends. Ness, willing to get away from the conversation, decides to check at the helipad if Paula returned. At the helipad, Ness and Jeff meet up with Pokey. Pokey planned to steal the helicopter but has to wait for Paula to return. As he proposes the boys to play Uno while they wait, Paula returns and lands on the helipad. She hands the keys to Pokey and joins the boys. As Pokey takes off, Paula reveals the helicopter's gas tank is pretty much near depletion. The episode ends with Pokey cursing Ness and his friends after he crashed in the Deep Darkness.
The narrator then proceeds with his closing comment when he is interrupted by Monotoli that somehow got through the air wave thanks to his walkie-talkie. While the ending theme plays, Monotoli continues with his random rambling until he is interrupted by Lucky of the Runaway Five who, furious about the other Lucky, swears to beat him up if he finds him.
Cultural References
- Jeff's song, "I Like Big Hips" is a parody of "Baby Got Back" by Sir Mix-a-Lot.
- "Slippy's ship is in the docking bay" is a reference of Starfox 64.
- "Trout Yogurt" was a comic made by Mr. Logan Bullock. It only ran for 16 strips.
- Total Eclipse of the Helicopter was a parody of Bonnie Tyler's "Total Eclipse of the Heart".
- Pokey suggests they play "UNO" while waiting for Paula to return with the helicopter.
Notes
- This marks both Electra and Monotoli's second appearance on the show.
- Episode 21 was jokingly referred to as "FaB: The Musical" because of the inclusion of two songs in one episode (I Like Big Hips and Total Eclipse of the Helicopter).
- The whole Trout Yogurt brings a plot hole to the storyline. On the previous episode, Electra claimed the Trout Yogurt was for Monotoli's special guest. Despite the fact she could have been lying, the fact that a flashback with Southern Paula eating a raw trout would support the fact that it was first intended to be for Paula and it would dispense actual Yogurt...
- Another plot hole occurs when Ness says "How are we supposed to get to the beach?". On the next episode, he is oblivious of the plan to go to Summers.
