Synopsis

The episode begins in the Fourside museum where Mr. Spoon shows Ness, Paula and Poo the manhole leading to the sewers. As they get inside the sewers, they notice the only way through the sewers is by the used water canal. Ness nominates Paula to go first and, to her dismay, throws her into the canal.

The scenes seems to keep shifting, creating a TV zapping effect. First, there's an announcer announcing the « Tommy and Trisha » show. The two apparently started a business in the Monotoli Building. As Trisha keeps asking Tommy if he finished his work, he asks her what exactly they are selling triggering the laugh in can stereotype. The scene shifts again to Ned Flanders, the Crusty Sea Captain, praising the Kraken for scaring away the Chosen Four, hoping the story of the Crusty Sea Captain will live on. The scene once again shifts to Paula's very first lines in the series with her old voice. Then, the actual Paula actually comments about not sounding like that at all. The scene once again shifts into Happy Happy Village where the free service store manager is spying on people to make sure no one would take the eggs without paying. The scene shifts then in the Onett arcade where two Sharks members talk about Frank's new budget plan that seems to be not profitable enough. The scene then shifts back in the scene where Trisha is falling down to her doom in Scaraba. Tommy then shows up, activating the Ancient Dragon Sphere Emerald Necklace of Power to save her. The scene then shifts to the White Sesame Seed breaking up with Black Sesame Seed. Black Sesame Seed gives up and accepts the fact but asks for who she is leaving him. She then explains that it wasn't a seed but a boy. The scene then shifts to a Wal-Mart commercial with the Labor Day song. The scene shifts once again back in Onett with the Shark showing Frank the new Frankystein Mk III made out of Jell-O. Then, Bill Cosby comments about the Mark III before the scene shifts again. The scene is now in the middle of a flashback with Paula's old father asking Southern Paula to do a random scene with him. Then, the scene shifts into Rob Michaud's, also known as ozwalled, show which is invaded once again by static and Rob then loses his temper on his computer. The scene then shifts back into the Topolla Theater where Paula asks Venus an autograph only to end up attacking her out of jealousy. The scene then shifts to Jeff and Ned having an argument about Maude, the Magic Cake Woman, until she comes up and offers cake to both of them.

Back into the Fourside sewers, Ness, Paula and Poo make it through the canal and reach the shiny spot. The guardian of the fifth “Your Sanctuary” location, the The Plague Rat of Doom, introduces himself. However, Ness fails to see the Doom part of his name. As the Plagued Rat of Doom wonders about the meaning of his name, Poo offers him a tip about always keeping track of the meaning of one's name. As the Plagued Rat thanks them, Ness, Paula and Poo proceeds to defeat him. As they collect the melody of the Magnet Hill, the sanctuary's power restores Jeff to life. Poo then finds the Carrot Key, item necessary to enter the Cave of the Plot Device back in Dalaam. As Ness mentions the Player's Guide saying Dalaam was the next destination, Jeff enters in a rage, asking what they were doing with HIS Player's Guide.

The narrator then finishes with his closing comment, asking what happened in the middle of the episode with the zapping.

Cultural References

The music heard in the background during the Tommy and Trisha show promo is from "Leave It To Beaver".

A segment from "The Most Unwanted Music" also plays.

Notes

Paula's first lines are featured in one of the "shows" as a nod to the fact Paula's voice actor Martin Tovar used her original voice only once before changing it to it's current state.

"He's not a seed. He's... a boy." - this is a reference to Mallory Weir's actual boyfriend, Stephen Georg, who does the voice of Ness.

Martin Tovar's microphone died near the end of the episode, which forced some improvisation to take place.
