Synopsis

The episode resumes as Trisha talks with Ness, Paula and Jeff. She seems to still like Ness but doesn't remember Jeff. However, Ness doesn't remember Trisha at all. Weirdly enough, Trisha is not mad at all about Paula's attempt to kill her. In fact, falling down the helicopter gave her an idea of making a parachuting school for children in need and their pets. Tommy then teleports to them, saying he has recovered the Maple Amulet of Phoenix Stoneforce. Trisha and him then teleports away, leaving Paula to wonder why Trisha can teleport and she can't.

Ness then notices a merchant and his camel. As Ness wants to talk to the camel, Paula and Jeff talks to the merchant. Ness and Paula doesn't seem to be much interrested in his wares but Jeff spots the Multi-Bottle Rockets. He immediatly buys all of them using all the money the group has despite the protestations of Ness and Paula. Ness then concludes it's better losing the money in weaponry than on gambling, which gives Paula the need to go back to Dusty Dunes Desert for another round. The group then encounters a native that explains to them about Dungeon Man being a little way further in the desert and he has the key to get inside. Despite Paula's attempt to communicate with the native, it is Jeff's complex speeches that allow the native to understand and he gives them the key. They then find Dungeon Man. As Ness suggests that they have to burn the rope, Jeff attempts to gain access using the key. However, it doesn't seem to work until Jeff notices he tried the wrong orifice.

Inside the dungeon, Ness keeps talking about burning the rope. As they progress through the dungeon, they make it into a section filled with animals. Ness recognizes Goat, a duck of a local church he stole one day with the help of canadian terrorists. He remembers the memories and concludes he loves Goat. The sound clip We Love Goat then plays. As they find another rope to climb, Ness' burning the rope speech makes Paula angry and uses PSI Fire at him.

As they reached the top, they meet up with Brick Road who has become Dungeon Man. After talking with Jeff about stuff his father told him, he offers his help and tells them to take the 'Return Hole'. After a disturbing exit, Ness, Paula and Jeff are back outside. As Ness wants to do it one more time, the other two moves on.

Cultural References

  • "Hey, it's a Colossus." - more than likely a reference to the PS2 game "Shadow of the Colossus".
  • The many "Burn The Rope" jokes in this episode come from the flash game of the same name. Like Ness tells us, the only objective is to burn the rope.
    • The "Grinning Colossus" is the one enemy in the game, hence Jeff's line. "A: It's not grinning. B: it's harmless. This is Dungeon Man."
  • The sound clip at 9:35 comes from "We Love Goat", a song co-written by cast member Stephen Georg about Goat, a paper mache duck and old mascot of [MeStephen.com].

Notes

  • In this episode we found out Trisha can, in fact, Whirr. This leads the listener to believe one of two things: that Trisha is, in fact, male, or that Ness was wrong all along, and being able to Whirr has to do with something other than having a Dongle.
  • In this episode Tommy retrieved the Maple Amulet of Phoenix Stoneforce.
  • In this episode, Jeff let go of his trademark Bottle Rocket for his infamous Multi-Bottle Rockets which he uses for the remaining of the series.
  • "Let's leave now I hate foreigners." - more Paula racism.
  • "This key doesn't work." a reference to Episode 10.
